Below are some of the key steps in the school application process, and how we can help you.

Step 1: Pick a Country, Educational Institution and Program

Admission to international colleges/universities is competitive. They receive significantly more applications than the spaces available. Hence, it is wise to first settle on a country, an educational institution and a program. Be sure to consider the admission deadline (depends on the admission term: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) and act fast!  Program availability is based on when your application is processed and not when your application is submitted.

Step 2: Review of Academic Standing

Your academic standing is one of the most important requirements in college admissions. It can be your breakthrough to securing an admission, scholarship and graduate supervisor. Colleges usually require Scanned copies of graduation transcripts and certificates, Credential assessments by the specified institution, English proficiency test (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) and Standardized test scores (GRE is used for graduate admission while the SAT is used for undergraduate admissions). All documents must be accompanied by certified and original copies from graduating institution(s).

If you are in your final year of high school or college/university, you will be required to submit a letter from your institution indicating the program completion date.

Step 3: Additional Program Requirements

Additional requirements may include a letter of intent (statement of purpose), scholarly essays, resume, questionnaires, online interview, standardized test score, language proficiency test score TOEFL, IELTS, reference letters, etc. Therefore, it is important to read program pages for detailed information on these requirements, where applicable.

Step 4: Review Tuition and Living Expenses

This is a significant step, but most students fail to recognize and it affects their admission. The program you apply for determines your tuition cost. Not all programs incur the same expense! In most cases, full tuition must be paid by the deadline indicated on your offer letter. If you do not pay the full amount by the deadline, your offer may be withdrawn. As part of the immigration requirements, you’ll be required to prove that you have enough money to fully support yourself during your stay in your destination country

Scholarships and funding opportunities might be available for your entire study or on a term to term basis. Our team is experienced at helping students secure scholarships, bursaries, loans and other available funding.

Step 5: Allow for appropriate Processing Time

Plan to submit your full application packet early or on-time. Include all requisite documents and any additional documents that can influence your admission decision.  Processing times can range from 3 weeks to several months from the application deadline / submission date.

Step 6: Receive Admission Decision and Next Steps

This is always the exciting part. Your hard work has paid off! You'll receive a letter of acceptance from the college, which kicks off your immigration and travel preparation.

To do this, you need:

  • A valid passport, valid for at least 6 months (in most cases)

  • Letter of acceptance from the college stating the program of study, including start and end dates, I20 (US), scholarship award letters etc.

  • Proof that you have enough money to support yourself and your dependents during your entire stay

  • Medical exam and/or police certificate  (if necessary) depending on your home country

  • Visa application process
